The new simulation system installed at the Politecnico del Mare institute in Catania has been designed to grant a low energy impact with the use of NAS and NUC systems, low-energy consumption units characterized by small dimensions and high processing capacity.
The system is composed of a part task bridge complete with an external station for simulating GMDSS communications and the navigation aids and emergency management section and four shipsim virtual bridge stations (two of which are equipped with mansim 2 control units).
The instructor station has, in addition to the classic equipment for managing the simulator and controlling the exercises, also two video repeaters for remote control of activities on the bridges.
